Privacy Policy

EasyDrobe is a wardrobe-cataloguing app built to run entirely on your own device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

The short version: EasyDrobe does not have a server, does not have user accounts, and does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to its developer or to any third party for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose. The only outside service the app talks to is a weather API, described below, and even that call carries no identifying information about you.

What's stored, and where

Everything you enter into EasyDrobe is stored in a local database on your device only. That includes:

Clothing items and their photos, along with details you set such as category, season, warmth, colour, pattern, how dressy a piece is, and what it cost.
Your wear history — when you last wore something and how often — and the wear streak built from it.
Outfits you plan for upcoming days using the weekly planner.
Whether you liked or disliked a suggested outfit, which the app uses to make better suggestions over time.
Your profile name and optional profile photo.

None of it is uploaded anywhere. EasyDrobe also switches off Android's automatic app backup, so your wardrobe is never copied to Google Drive or any other cloud service on your behalf. The trade-off is worth stating plainly: because there is no copy anywhere else, uninstalling the app permanently deletes everything it stored, and there is no way to recover it.

Outfit suggestions and ratings

EasyDrobe suggests outfits by comparing your own wardrobe against the local forecast, and it adjusts to your taste as you rate suggestions and log what you actually wear. All of that happens on your device, using only your own data. Nothing you rate, plan, or wear is sent anywhere, used to train anything, or shared with the developer or anyone else.

Camera

EasyDrobe requests camera access so you can photograph clothing items to add to your digital wardrobe. Photos are processed on-device (including automatic background removal) and saved to the app's own private storage folder. They are never uploaded, shared, or accessible to any other app.

Location

EasyDrobe requests location access for one purpose only: to look up the local forecast so it can suggest weather-appropriate outfits, including for the days ahead in the weekly planner. Your coordinates are rounded before they leave your device — to about the nearest ten metres — and sent to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's public weather service (MET Norway) purely to retrieve a forecast. EasyDrobe does not keep a history of where you have been.

Being straightforward about the limits of that: EasyDrobe attaches nothing identifying to the request — no account, no device identifier, no advertising ID, nothing that ties one lookup to another or to you. It does identify itself as EasyDrobe, because MET Norway require applications using their service to do so. And because your device contacts the weather service directly, that service can see the IP address the request came from, alongside the rounded coordinates being asked about, in the same way any website you visit can see your IP address. That is inherent to making the request at all rather than something EasyDrobe adds, and it is handled under MET Norway's own privacy policy.

Weather data is provided by MET Norway under a CC BY 4.0 licence. The forecasts shown in the app are processed on your device rather than displayed exactly as received: hourly readings are combined into daily highs and lows, and the "feels like" temperature is calculated locally.

Internet access

The only network requests EasyDrobe makes are the weather lookups described above — a single forecast request covering today and the week ahead. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no advertising of any kind, and no crash-reporting services bundled into the app that transmit data off your device.

Children's privacy

EasyDrobe does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone, full stop — there is no account system, no sign-up, and nothing leaves the device except the anonymous weather lookup described above.

Data deletion

Since all data lives only in the app's local storage, uninstalling EasyDrobe permanently deletes everything it stored — items, photos, wear history, planned outfits, outfit ratings, and profile information. There is nothing stored elsewhere to separately request deletion of, and no account to close.

Changes to this policy

If EasyDrobe's data practices change in a future version (for example, if cloud backup is introduced as an optional feature), this page will be updated first, and the in-app permissions/behavior will reflect exactly what's described here.
